Amity is a leading community organisation and works to reduce real and potential harms related to gambling across the Northern Territory for over 20 years. We deliver training packages for staff in diverse gambling venues across the Territory.
Amity offers several training packages that range from 1 to 2.5 hours
Training outcomes:
Increase understanding of people working in venues of harms related to gambling
Build confidence and skills to recognise and respond to ‘red flag’ behaviours
Take appropriate actions in a compassionate way and apply skills to increase responsible gambling conversations with customers.
Online Training – Let’s Talk: Conducting Brief Interventions using a Motivational Interviewing Approach
Amity has developed a free online training course for professionals working in the alcohol and other drug sector. Participants will learn about effective methods for facilitating brief interventions underpinned by the spirit and foundation of motivational interviewing. The course can be completed in one sitting or at a pace that suits participants as the progress automatically saves.
