Amity Community Services is currently running a program that seeks to provide outreach, counselling and intervention services for people affected by illicit drug use and their significant others.
The key aims of the program are:
- developing networks and relationships with relevant service providers, organisations and venues of illicit drug treatment or use
- working closer with agencies that identify illicit drug use and need to refer for intervention e.g. legal system, GPS, Health clinics, welfare services etc.
- develop harm minimisation approaches/techniques with relevant service providers, organisations and venues to address illicit substance use
- provide information and referral options for those affected by illicit drug use
Ultimately, the overall purpose of this project is to provide counselling/intervention, education and referral options for those affected by illicit drug use (including their significant others) through Amity’s services.
